Role Overview

Position: Pupil (Corporate, Energy & Infrastructure)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Position Type: Pupillage
Practice Areas: Corporate; Energy & Infrastructure
Allowance: RM4,500 per month

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting and supporting partners and associates across our Corporate and Energy & Infrastructure practices, including legal research, drafting, and document preparation and making enquiries with regulatory authorities
  • For Energy & Infrastructure practice, you will be assisting with energy and infrastructure matters, including regulatory research, preparation of project documents, and document management on active transactions
  • For Corporate practice, you will be assisting with corporate matters, including due diligence exercises, preparation of corporate documents, and supporting transaction closing processes
  • Participating in client meetings and calls, and other ad hoc tasks as required
  • Assisting with fee proposals and engagement documentation
  • Assisting with and participating in the Firm’s business development efforts, including researching and writing articles and attending business-related functions
  • Participating actively in the Firm’s learning and development initiatives
  • Participating in knowledge management, professional development and Firm administrative activities as requested

Candidate Requirements

  • Having completed or about to complete at least one of the following:
    • the Malaysian Public University Law Degree recognised by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board;
    • the Bar Course (BVS, BTC, BPC, etc.); or
    • the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP).
  • Having achieved a minimum 2:1 (Upper Second-Class Honours) or equivalent in your degree
  • A genuine interest in energy, infrastructure, or corporate law and transactions
  • Strong legal research skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meticulous, responsible, and organised
  • Highest standards of professional ethics and integrity
  • Written assessment and references will be required
